Announcing an Engagement

About Me

Announcing an Engagement

Nearly every day I visit my favorite social media outlets. Because I live a long distance from my closest friends and family members, I enjoy keeping up with their lives online. Oftentimes, I see people announcing important events such as engagements on their social media pages and I just wish I could help them plan their receptions. Have you recently gotten engaged to your significant other? If you’re getting married, consider creating custom signs to put up around your wedding venue. These can be used to direct guests as well as share information about the night's events and food options. You will of course wish to create signs that reflect both of your personalities and the wedding theme. On this blog, I hope you will discover tips for custom ordering unforgettable signs for large events.

Are You Landscaping The Front Of Your New Day Care Center?

If the indoor design for your new day care center is already in the works, maybe you are now focused on what you will do for the outdoor landscaping. Do you need some ideas on how to landscape in a unique way that will delight the children that come to your facility? Continue reading for ideas that might help you.

Start Big - Can you imagine the children and their parents arriving at your day care center only to find a huge child-themed metal sculpture as the focal point of your landscape? That will certainly set the mood for everything else they'll see. There are so many choices of what kind of metal sculpture you can order that you might have trouble choosing just one. Remember that the sculpture should be one that will appeal to kids. Some ideas are:

  • A huge ABC metal sculpture painted in the primary colors is one idea that would please both children and adults.
  • A metal sculpture in the shape of a book and a child peeking into it would be truly unique.
  • A modernistic sculpture that represents children at play is another idea.
  • Or, choose a very realistic sculpture that depicts a child going down a slippery-slide.

No matter the design of the sculpture you select, it will perform really well in all kinds of weather. The maintenance will be minimal, too. If it is painted in outdoor friendly paints, you'll probably only have to have the sculpture repainted every few years. Discuss large outdoor metal sculpture ideas with a local professional.

Topiaries

Besides the large metal sculpture, there are other ways that you can landscape in a way that will please the children who will attend your day care facility. For example, you could have topiaries in the shape of animals. Consider topiaries that look like giraffes, elephants, and monkeys. Another fun idea for a topiary is to have a spiral design that can be decorated for different holidays. For example, at Christmas time, the topiary could don a top hat, making it look a bit like a snowman. When Easter is near, give the spiral designed topiary bunny ears and a little round tail. For Halloween, put a witches hat on the top of the topiary and stick a broom into the side of the topiary.

Does your property have trees on it? If so, think of hanging things like huge yo-yos and decorative birdhouses from the branches. You could even make a pretend door on one of the tree trunks and put up a small sign above the pretend door that says something like, The Fairy House.
